Foxcote Reservoir - 22nd September 2006

The weather on the afternoon of 22nd of September was low cloud and driving rain, but it did produce a large fall of waders at Foxcote Reservoir with twenty Greenshank and eighteen Redshank dropping in.  This is one of the most significant falls of waders in the county.  The above photos show several of the Greenshank plus some Redshank and a Teal.

Up to six Greenshank were seen together at Foxcote in what turned out to be a good August for waders at this site.

This species is seen in Buckinghamshire each spring and autumn while on passage.  Sometimes small numbers are seen at favourable locations.
