Steps Hill was still one of the more reliable sites for this species in 2003.

Over recent years Tree Pipits have become far scarcer in the county and many well established breeding sites, no longer hold any birds.  Fortunately Steps Hill still manages to attract  at least one pair, of which the singing male is shown here.
