The above bird was photographed in suitable breeding habitat at a different site to the picture below.  It is pleasing to see that this scarce Bucks bird has managed to retain a presence in the county over the last eight years.

South Bucks - 2nd May 1994

Woodlarks have undergone a range expansion in recent years and bred in the south of the county.  This is the first  breeding record since 1971.  Woodlarks have since further consolidated their breeding status within the county and prospects look good providing suitable habitat is available.
