Bird Sightings

Seen an interesting bird?  Then let us know by submitting a record on our on-line database.  It is easy to do but if you need some instructions take a look at the Submit Sightings Page.  To view the latest sightings just click on the menu item for Latest Sightings.

Some birds are not uncommon in other parts of the country or around our coasts, but may be in Buckinghamshire.  If you want to see just how scarce a particular species is then take a look at the Bucks List.

Indoor Meeting Dancersend: A Year in the Life – Mick Jones

4 Oct 2018 - 19:45 to 22:00

at Wendover Memorial Hall, , Wendover (Lat/Long 51.7662 and -0.739901)

Mick Jones MBE has been volunteer warden at BBOWT’s Dancersend Nature Reserve in the Chilterns for the last 36 years. During that time the reserve has grown from 78 acres to the current 211 acres, making it now the oldest and largest of the Wildlife Trust’s reserves in Buckinghamshire. The varied geology, topography and habitats at the reserve make it extremely rich in wildlife, for some of which it is now the only site in the region. Mick’s interests have developed from birds and plants, through fungi and butterflies, to slime moulds, plant galls, moths and beetles. He will take us through a typical year at Dancersend, showing some of the special wildlife, explaining the management of the reserve and sharing some of its secrets.
