Bird Sightings

Seen an interesting bird?  Then let us know by submitting a record on our on-line database.  It is easy to do but if you need some instructions take a look at the Submit Sightings Page.  To view the latest sightings just click on the menu item for Latest Sightings.

Some birds are not uncommon in other parts of the country or around our coasts, but may be in Buckinghamshire.  If you want to see just how scarce a particular species is then take a look at the Bucks List.

Indoor Meeting Florida & A Little Bit of Mexico – Mike Wallen

7 Feb 2019 - 19:45 to 22:00

at St Anne's Hall, Wendover, Aylesbury Road, Wendover (Lat/Long 51.765010 and -0.743852)

This PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS MEETING WILL BE HELD AT ST ANNE’s HALL, Aylesbury Road, Wendover.

This talk was originally planned for March but switched with the February talk.

Mike has visited Florida on a number of occasions and has visited in each of the last three years, all on family holidays. Mike will take us to some of the local sites around Orlando where the majority of tourists will find themselves due to the theme parks. He will also take us to the coast and down to the Keys. Through this journey around Florida, he will focus on the birdlife but also some of the other wildlife encountered along the way. In addition he will describe some of the ways to encounter the birds and see the many varied sites that this fabulous state has to offer.

We’ll then jump on a short flight to the Yucatan peninsula in Mexico where again Mike will focus on the birds/ wildlife and sites available to the general tourist. Some of the birds here are spectacular and very bright, which is just what you need to brighten a cold February evening in the UK!

Roseate Spoonbill

The talk starts at 7:45pm with doors open from 7:15pm.
