Species which are rarely recorded in Britain require a description to be submitted to the British Birds Rarities Committee (BBRC). They assess records of species, and some distinctive sub-species, which rarely occur in Britain.

Descriptions can be submitted to the BBRC via the online form on their Submit a sighting page or you can download a Microsoft Word or PDF versions are available from the same page. If you use one of the offline versions, please email the completed form to the BBRC Secretary, copied to the relevant county bird recorder.
